Gender & Nutrition
Our Gender and Nutrition Unit works to improve community health and livelihoods by promoting inclusive and equitable access to nutritious horticultural produce.
Through our nutrition programs, we combat micronutrient deficiencies, stunting, and non-communicable diseases by training communities on Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices (IYCFP), encouraging colourful and diversified diets, supporting household and school-based nutrition gardens, and promoting value addition to ensure year-round food access. We also produce learning materials and run media campaigns to spread nutrition education across Tanzania.

Highlights of key achievement
Reaching over 5 million people with gender and nutrition training through media campaigns
Reaching more than 10,000 people through community training
More than 20 school gardens established
More than 335 home garden established
